Donna McGee is a largely a self taught modern Irish Landscape, Seascape and abstract artist. Her preferred medium is oil and she likes to work on stretched canvas. Her paintings are rich in colour and tonal contrast and they arouse the curiosity of the onlooker. Each subject matter has its own story to tell! The spiritual energy of the Irish countryside is captured and celebrated in her work with dramatic skylines, rugged coastlines and the wealth of flora and fauna. She also likes to explore the world of the abstract form and creates highly textured images through the skillful use of palette knives thus creating a raw and exciting energy.
